There are many shibori techniques and this was my first attempt at the feather technique. It involves first dying the lighter colour, then ironing the scarf folded in 4 lengthwise, wrapping it in a spiral round a wide pipe, binding it spiral-wise with thread, sliding it down to form a wrinkly band about 5 cm wide, soaking it in water, dying it with the darker colour, waiting days for it to dry before unwrapping it....
